Current projects
The main things I’m working on at the moment:
School of Everything
In 2006, a few friends and I took the plunge and decided to become entrepreneurs. I’m now CEO and we’ve got a great team and we’re backed by some amazing investors and The Young Foundation - the UK’s premier supporter of social innovations. Watch the startup story unfold here.
Social Innovation Camp
I’m working with some friends to run Social Innovation Camp - a weekend event in 2008 to bring together people with deep knowledge of social problems with people who could help solve them using simple technological tools. Nesta have given us some money to get it off the ground and the Young Foundation have lent us their amazing building in Bethnal Green for a weekend to make it happen.
Demos
Demos is the think tank for everyday democracy. I’m what they call a Demos Associate, working as a freelance researcher and writer on a few projects and generally hanging around the office every now and then. They don’t throw me out as long as I make the occasional cup of tea for the team.
Forum for the Future
I’m also an Associate of the sustainability think tank Forum for the Future - working with their futures team to develop scenarios and other futures tools and the innovation team to develop new products and services that tackle climate change.
The Long Now Foundation
The Long Now Foundation is a San Francisco based non-profit aiming to inspire long term thinking. I help out as a volunteer organising events for them in London when I can. They rather grandly call me a Charter Member. If you’d like to help, please get in touch.
