Interesting <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/29/opinion/29BROO.html?th">piece in the NY Times</a> today about the structural reasons for political polarization (particularly in the college educated population) in the US.

I'm writing a piece about the future of political parties in the UK at the moment and the more I think about it, the more I don't think they have one.
